Exhaust System Repair
Exhaust & Muffler Repair in Sandston, VA
A loud exhaust is an inspection failure and a carbon monoxide problem, in that order of how people usually notice and the reverse order of how much it matters. Virginia salts its roads and Virginia rusts its exhaust systems, and most failures are a single rotten section rather than the whole thing.
We weld. That means when one pipe or one flange has failed, we can fix that rather than quote you a full system because it's easier to order a full system.

What you get
Every exhaust & muffler job includes
- Full system inspection on a lift, with the engine running
- Custom pipe bending and welded repairs
- Mufflers, resonators, flex pipes and hangers
- Manifold and flange leaks
- Catalytic converter diagnosis and replacement
- Oxygen sensor replacement and testing
- Exhaust leaks that are actually setting your check engine light

The 16-point vehicle check, with photos of anything worth showing you. It is a health report, not a sales pitch — and it does not apply to state inspections, which are a separate state-regulated procedure.
The noise tells you where it is
A tick that's loudest on a cold start and quiets as the engine warms is usually an exhaust manifold leak — the crack closes as the metal expands. A deep drone that rises with engine speed is generally a muffler or a rotted mid-pipe. A rattle over bumps is a heat shield or a broken hanger, and it is usually the cheapest thing on this page.
Before you buy a catalytic converter
A P0420 code says the converter isn't working as efficiently as the computer expects. It does not always mean the converter is bad. A leaking upstream sensor, an exhaust leak before the sensor, or an engine running rich will all produce that code with a perfectly good converter underneath.
Converters are expensive. We test before we condemn one.
The staff are professional and explains everything very clearly. They are honest and transparent with no attempts to upsell unnecessary services. I highly recommend this shop for reliable work.

Exhaust & Muffler
Exhaust & Muffler — questions we get asked
Will a loud exhaust fail my Virginia inspection?
Yes. The exhaust system is part of the safety inspection, and a system with holes, excessive noise or leaks ahead of the passenger compartment is a rejection.
Can you weld my exhaust instead of replacing the whole system?
Usually. That's the point of having a welder. If the rest of the system is sound, we fix the section that failed.
Do you do performance exhaust work?
Talk to us. We do pipe bending and welding and we will tell you honestly what will pass a Virginia inspection and what will not before you spend the money.
